"National Occupational Standards (NOS for short) describe what a person needs to do, know and understand in their job to carry out their role in a consistent and
competent way."

UK Commission for Employment and Skills

Occupational standards for a number of financial services industry sectors have been produced by the Financial Services Skills Council. These standards include:

  • Compliance
  • Anti-money laundering
  • Preventing Financial Crime

These standards have been drafted in an international format that can be utilised by firms and regulators globally.

Additionally the Jersey Financial Services Commission has issued Codes of Practice for local financial services industry sectors. Employers and employees must have regard to recognised professional qualifications and on-going continuing development requirements.
