Course content

Students must complete all units from Group A and the unit from Group B combined with two optional units from Group C to achieve the diploma.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this qualification participants should be able to:

  • Understand the links and differences between management and leadership
  • Manage their staff individually and in teams through the performance management process, including planning, appraisal and personal development meetings and team meetings
  • Be able to identify and agree performance objectives
  • Apply their understanding of their own and others learning styles to ensure that teams can learn and, therefore, maximise performance
  • Be able to assess and plan for personal professional development
  • Be able to understand and apply the organisation’s disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Understand leadership principles that support organisational values
