Financial services is a vitally important sector of the Jersey, UK and global economies. The sector offers excellent employment prospects for graduates across a range of career paths. Our objective is to deliver a world-class degree in international financial services that will lay the foundation not only for graduate employment but long‑term career success internationally. The course of study is rigorous but fulfilling. The degree is awarded by one of the UK’s top‑ranked universities and is delivered in one of the world’s leading international financial centres.

Whilst students who apply directly to the University Centre to study for the BSc degree will have the opportunity to take up industry experience by securing internships, we are delighted to announce the additional opportunity of two new schemes launched by two leading Banks offering students a more structured paid work support programme.

HSBC and RBS International are supporting the BSc (Hons) International Financial Services degree by offering a number of places for students to follow paid, structured work experience. Whilst the degree study takes place during the first half of the week there is the opportunity to work up to 20hours in the latter half of the week.

HSBC are offering the chance of part-time, paid work experience whilst studying for the 2-year degree, as part of their ‘HSBC Future Leaders Programme’. Students who match the degree entry criteria, and who pass a rigorous interview process with HSBC, will be able to consider this option and then be expected to progress into full-time employment with the bank.

RBS International are offering two students the opportunity to work part-time for the bank and study for the degree. Whilst students earn a living they will also gain a structured work programme involving 3 month placements in different parts of the organisation including retail, operations, corporate, and treasury to gain a broad experience. Again, strict entry requirements apply.
