Meet the Team: Introducing Carlos Borralho

Job title: Premises & Catering

Role: Carlos takes care of the facilities and provides all the in-house catering for the courses which includes light meals and canapés for special events. He also assists with exams (invigilating, mailing, setting up) and co-ordinating mail-outs and deliveries, etc – you name it!

Meet the Team: Introducing Jo French

Job Title: Director of Education / Senior lecturer

Role: Jo has worked in offshore financial services since 1988 and qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1991. She later joined BPP Professional Education as a senior lecturer and ICSA Programme Manager where her students won many of the international prizes. Jo has also taught on CAT, ATT and ACCA, and developed in-house CPD programmes. Jo lectures outside of Jersey and for the BBA.

Role:  Chris has over 15 years’ experience in financial services, working both in the UK and offshore, for major financial institutions such as Barclays Wealth and Santander. Chris now specialises in delivering training in investment management, taxation and regulatory issues. Formerly an International Investment Manager he advised both individuals and corporate entities on complex investment scenarios.

Meet the Team: Introducing Emma Boustouler

Emma BoustoulerJob title: Senior Lecturer

Role: Before joining the Business School, Emma had over ten years experience of working with Employee Benefit Trusts and Share Plans, and latterly at HBOS where she was a Training Consultant with responsibility for the design and delivery of technical training for new and existing employees. Prior to this, she worked in a number of roles at Mourant Employee Compensation Solutions, including that of a Senior Account Manager.

Emma is a graduate from ICSA as a Company Secretary and currently teaches the following courses:

  • The Effective Company Secretary, Company Law & Administration,
  • Trust Law & Administration, Anti-Money Laundering, EBTs
  • Report Writing, Taking Minutes at Meetings.

What do you enjoy most about your job?  Interacting with people and researching.

Favourite aspect of Island life: Not having a long commute; the beach in winter; freedom and safety for my children.

Interests: I don’t have time!

If you could be a student again what would you study?  Linguistics first time, and linguistics again.

Lessons learnt from life: Always bring your own laptop!

Role: Gemma is the first point of contact for many employers and new students at the school and is responsible for all the course bookings and enquiries. Her broad range of experience in administration means that Gemma is able to handle a variety of different client needs and her focus is on offering a high level of customer satisfaction.
