Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the global body for professional accountants. ACCA aim to offer business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management.

 

ACCA support 131,500 members and 362,000 students throughout their careers, providing services through a network of 82 offices and active centres. Their global infrastructure means that exams and support are delivered - and reputation and influence developed - at a local level, directly benefiting stakeholders wherever they are based, or plan to move to, in pursuit of new career opportunities. ACCA focus on professional values, ethics, and governance, and deliver value-added services through 57 global accountancy partnerships, working closely with multinational and small entities to promote global standards and support.

International Compliance Association

The International Compliance Association (ICA) is committed to increasing knowledge and professionalism throughout financial services, all over the world. The ICA believes in investing in staff as part of an integral approach to combating the increasing risks to our industry. They undertake to disseminate knowledge, guidance, information and practical skills in an ongoing strategy to constantly improve business performance and seek global partnerships and form alliances with those like-minded entities in order to further our objectives. The Association aims to help individuals and firms improve so they are better placed to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.’

 

Working in the financial services sector, the Association delivers quality assured learning through its training division, International Compliance Training. It delivers comprehensive education programmes and develops and supports professionals globally. The Association has trained in excess of 10,000 students across the range of disciplines all over the world.

Solicitors Regulation Authority

The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales. From negotiating with and lobbying the profession's regulators, government and others, to offering training and advice, the Law Society help, protect and promote solicitors across England and Wales.

 

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) - the independent regulatory body of the Law Society - regulates more than 100,000 solicitors in England and Wales, as well as registered European lawyers and registered foreign lawyers. Since 1985, they have operated a compulsory continuing professional development scheme. Over the years, it has evolved into a system guided by the principles of simplicity and flexibility.

 

Solicitors are encouraged to assume responsibility for their own development by choosing from the wide range of activities that can be pursued in order to meet the yearly CPD requirement.

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment

The Securities & Investment Institute is the largest and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK and in a growing number of major financial centres round the world. Formed in 1992 by London Stock Exchange practitioners, they now have more than 40,000 members in 89 countries. In the past year, the SII set almost 50,000 examinations in 49 countries, covering a range of vocational qualifications.

 

Members benefit from a range of professional and social activities. In the latest financial year, the SII had almost 11,000 bookings at more than 200 events, from a regular series of Continuing Professional Development seminars through Britain and in a growing number of centres overseas, to prestigious and highly-acclaimed conferences. They have a strong regional presence throughout the UK, with 16 active branches across the British Isles, and a fast-growing presence outside their London base, served by offices in Dubai, Dublin, Edinburgh, Mumbai, Shanghai and Singapore.

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators is the leading professional body for company secretaries and a global voice on governance and regulatory issues across all sectors.  The Institute's headquarters are in London but it has separate operating units in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

 

The ICSA promotes best practice in corporate governance, liaising with governments and regulatory bodies worldwide. They publish guidance notes and best practice guides and through subsidiaries provide information and training, boardroom performance evaluation and dedicated software. The ICSA has 36,000 members worldwide and is represented in over 70 countries.
